“Tell me something I don’t know.”

In early-stage discussions with my clients, I often hear this—What’s new? What’s pathbreaking? The expectation? A game-changing solution, something unheard of before.

This always takes me back to my own experience as a parent.

Raising a child in Gurgaon comes with its own set of challenges, especially during the early years. Frequent visits to the doctor became routine—every few months, it was something or the other: fever, cough, stomach infection—the cycle continued.

Over time, we got familiar with the standard medicines, the ones you could count on your fingers.

There were times when, feeling confident or pressed for time, we tried managing things on our own. But more often than not, after a week of failed attempts and worsening the problem, we ended up visiting the doctor anyway.

Why? Because while we knew the medicines, the right diagnosis and precise combination of treatment truly mattered.

Illnesses like the coronavirus are rare. Most of the time, it’s about effectively dealing with the usual suspects—but doing it the right way.

The same applies to solving business challenges. It’s rarely about inventing something entirely new. Instead, it’s about making the right diagnosis and crafting a curated solution from what’s already known.

The real magic happens when experience, understanding, and problem-solving come together to tackle challenges effectively.

Would love to hear your thoughts—Is it always about discovering something new? Or is it about applying what we already know the right way?
